Gender in Language and Expression: With Chinese Language as the Point of Departure

Editat de Usha Chandran
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 2 mar 2027
This book explores the intricate relationship between society's gendered consciousness and its manifestation in language. It examines the gendered dimensions of the Chinese language while drawing meaningful parallels with other linguistic traditions, including two European languages—French and Spanish, and three Asian languages—Hindi, Korean and Japanese. The authors bring together diverse perspectives of language, literature, history, culture, society, and politics to look at gender in language and expression.

An important contribution, this book will be essential reading for scholars and researchers in Chinese studies, linguistics, gender studies, women's studies, and Chinese literature.
