Future Sneakers: The world of independent sneaker designs
Autor Simon Seeen Limba Engleză Hardback – 10 iul 2027
Featuring 100 different designs, from 30 manufacturers in 15 different countries across the world, this book follows the creatives, studios, and emerging labels who approach footwear as a design discipline. Hundreds of meticulously photographed shoes, prototypes, and process details celebrate the sneaker as an object shaped by craft, technology, sustainability and use. Trail and outdoor designs sit alongside experimental manufacturing, each offering a distinct response to a key need. Interviews and conversations trace the stories behind these projects, from development constraints and production choices to the question of longevity. Studio photography, and ephemera place the shoes within a broader cultural field.

Notă biografică
Simon See is co-founder and brand director of Stepney Workers Club, an East London footwear label known for pared-back vulcanised sneakers and a restrained approach to design.
His relationship to sneaker culture comes through more than a decade of work in footwear retail, sales and brand development, including senior roles with international shoe agencies operating across the UK and Asia. Across production, distribution and market-facing work, he gained a practical view of how sneakers move from concept to manufacturing, retail, and long-term wear.
In 2018, he co-founded Stepney Workers Club with Roger Pereira, taking its name from the Stepney Workers' Sports Club, an anti-fascist and anti-war organisation formed in 1920s London. The brand's tenet, "Freedom of Sport, Freedom of Thought," frames a design practice that focuses on longevity and clarity over spectacle.
Future Sneakers draws on this background. See writes from within the category, with attention to process, materials and the decisions that make footwear durable. The result is a record of sneakers in a period of recalibration, when the object and its construction begin to carry more of the story.
