• Convert historical dates, like MCMXLIX, from Roman numerals.
• Do arithmetic with Roman numerals, like the square root of XLIX.
• Make fractions or percents with Roman numerals, like IV/IX.
• Predict which Roman numeral will come next in a pattern, like IV, IX, XVI, XXV, _, _.
• Solve variety puzzles that use Roman numerals (including word puzzles that relate to the Romans in some way).
• Fight gladiators in a Colosseum. (We're just kidding about this last part. Kids, don't try this at home. Or anyone else. Even if you're not a kid.)
