THE STORY OF A YOUNG GIRL GROWING UP IN INDIA DURING THE LAST DAYS OF THE RAJ Its 1933 and India is changing; the British have been ruling the country for three hundred years, but now there is much talk of 'Independence' and 'Partitioning'. A girl is born in Calcutta to a happy well respected British family. As she matures, she develops a deep love for her homeland of India. She, like her parents, has a sense of belonging in this wonderful land. Later she becomes troubled, not by all the talk of a non-violent transition to independence, but by the desire of some to gain freedom through more violent means. Suddenly she finds herself caught up in the violence.....
