A baguette as a balloon, a square with a jetpack, and voyeuristic potatoes: in his photorealistic oil paintings, Francisco Sierra transposes commonplace objects into enigmatic and ambiguous worlds. Born in Chile and now living in Switzerland, Sierra engages with everyday phenomena and the history of painting through an ironic and often unsettling lens. By combining hyperrealistic representation with Surrealist motifs, his paintings, sculptures, and installations create an eerie atmosphere in which viewers may feel more like voyeurs.
