Forever Offside

Autor Jameson Alex West
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 15 iul 2026
Hilarious, tragic, and bitingly real For years in the niche sport that is Norway's rugby league, Oslo's The Caps have been the national champions. The team has been held together by the patience and charisma of their Skipper, lafeta "Fek"Teo'. But the demand of work and ayoung family mean that Fek, as his wife puts it, doesn't have time 'to father these man-children. Thankfully Fek has the perfect replacement: Joseph "Hepa" Coyle, the new kid on the block that has raised the Trondheim Wolverines from obscurity into a national force. But Oslo isn't Trondheim, and chaos, resentment and apathy threaten to consume the colourful cast of players. Like all great comedies Forever Offside feels al too real, written with a fresh self-depreciating humour that is not afraid to probe the darker side of humanity.

Notă biografică

Jameson Alex West is the author of three books, a novel Tenure as a Statistician (2017) and two creative nonfiction collections The Cursed Bus and Other Writings (2020) and Banish the Thinker and Other Writings (2021). In 2018, he meticulously transcribed his grandfather's calligraphic five-year World War II diaries and released them as a book, Spitfires and Spots. While his pet loves are spicy food and hot weather, due to unforeseen circumstances, he lives in one of the world's coldest and darkest places. The silver lining is that the calm long nights provide him with the perfect writing atmosphere. He has two young sons who are teaching him how to be a polyglot. He also works manual jobs in stage and food production, and for fifteen years has owned and operated JJCROSSBAT books, an online second-hand bookshop
