Food security is undoubtedly a major concern and top priority for the government today. Although, India is the second largest producer of food grains in the world, around 25 per cent of the population suffer from poverty and the incidence of malnutrition is also very high at rate of 23 per cent. In this backdrop, there is no doubt that research can play a valuable role in a successful integration process and bring forth interventional strategies for food security.
