Flyygrl grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn during a time when poverty had taken her neighborhood by storm. As a result, Flyygrl was subjected to adversity at a very young age. Independent of economic and social disadvantages, Flyygrl also experienced discrimination and social implications that she had to overcome in order to pursue what she had wanted more than anything in the world - to acquire an education and to be the first in her family to finish college. She was driven by her desire to break the cycle for herself , her family , her peers as well as generations to come.
