Notă biografică
Dimitrios A. Avlonitis, Retired Professor of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Aircraft Technology at Technological Institute of Stereas Elladas in Greece, received his B.S. in Chemistry from Athens University and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the Heriot‑Watt University, UK, where he worked as a research fellow. He has taught undergraduate courses in Fluid Mechanics, Advanced Calculus,
and Thermodynamics. He has authored and co authored many theoretical and experimental scientific papers on hydrodynamics and thermodynamics. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the Ministry of Defense as the head of the Fuel Pipelines Management and in the Aero‑Engine factory in Greece, as the Head of Department.
Stamatios A. Avlonitis, Retired Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Technological Institute of Stereas Elladas in Greece, received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Patras Greece and B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Council of Recognition of Professional Qualifications and Higher Degrees of Greece, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow University UK. He has taught undergraduate courses in Desalination, Water Technology, and Environmental Engineering for many years. He was a research associate in the Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Patras, and Director of the Municipal Water Company in Oia, Greece. He has more than 30 years of industrial experience as an advisor in design, construction, and commission of desalination plants, design, optimization, installation, and maintenance of the water and sewage pipe networks and pumping systems, and waste water plants design and operation. Dr. S. Avlonitis has contributed to many scientific publications, and he is the author of two textbooks on Desalination Technology and Environmental Engineering. He was awarded many financed research programs during his academic carrier. He is a Charted Chemical Engineer in the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK.
