Dimitrios A. Avlonitis, Retired Professor of Aircraft Technology at Technological Institute of Stereas Elladas in Greece, received his B.S. in Chemistry from Athens University and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the Heriot-Watt University, UK, where he worked as researcher fellow. He has taught undergraduate courses in Fluid Mechanics, Advanced Calculus and Thermodynamics. He has authored and coauthored many theoretical and experimental scientific papers on hydrodynamic and thermodynamic. Prior to his academic carrier he worked in Ministry of Defense as head of the Fuel Pipelines Management and in Aero-Engine factory in Greece, as Head of Department.
Stamatios A. Avlonitis, Retired Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Technological Institute of Stereas Elladas in Greece, received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from University of Patras Greece and B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Council of Recognition of Professional Qualifications and Higher Degrees of Greece, his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow University UK. He has taught undergraduate courses in Desalination, Water Technology and Environmental Engineering for many years. He was a Research Associate in the Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Patras and Director of the municipal water company in Oia, Greece. He has more than 30 years industrial experience as advisor in design, construction and commission of desalination plants, design, optimization, installation, and maintenance of water and sewage pipe networks and pumping systems and waste water plants design and operation. Dr. S. Avlonitis has contributed to many scientific publications and is the author of two textbooks on desalination technology and Environmental Engineering. He was awarded many financed research programs during his academic career. He is a Charted Chemical Engineer in the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK.
