Flourish

Flourish is a thoughtful and deeply personal collection of poems that explores aging as a journey of growth, resilience, and transformation. Anchored by the title poem, the collection unfolds through five sections: origins, girl, siblings, openings, and wondrous things, tracing the passage of time and the evolving perspective that comes with lived experience. These sections also loosely follow the directions of the Medicine Wheel, reflecting cycles of life, balance, and renewal. Building on the themes of the author's first poetry collection, Homecoming, which centered on reclaiming Native identity and heritage, Flourish celebrates that heritage as a living, integrated part of the self. Throughout the collection, poems honour memory, family, culture, and the natural world while offering a refreshing vision of later life, not as a time of decline, but as one of wisdom, renewal, and flourishing.
