1944 Austria. A Nazi officer is tipped off that a Spanish Riding School groom is sheltering a Jewish boy at his stables. Jakob hides successfully but has to watch the officer threaten his beloved Lipizzaner stallions. Jakob and his guardian know they must get themselves and horses away, but can they all get over the mountains to safety?
