For years, Akuma had been pining after his coworker, Cara. But just hours before the date of his dreams, a pair of demons murder him. Death offers him a rare choice: rest in peace, or return as a Reaper and risk becoming enslaved to anyone who discovers his true name.

As demons close in to destroy the veil between the supernatural and mortal realms, Akuma must free himself of his enslavement, and Cara must unlock her strength and embrace her legacy before they're both sacrificed to shatter the gates of Hell.
