The definitive publication on one of America's most influential contemporary artists, revised and updated almost two decades after its first release
Felix Gonzalez-Torres uniquely blended the personal and the political in rigorously conceptual and purposely mutable work that is highly relevant today.
Almost two decades after its original publication, the monograph accompanying Gonzalez-Torres's 1995 retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum is still the canonical text on the artist.Phaidon is proud to publish a newly revised and expanded edition of this art-world cult classic. Felix Gonzalez-Torres is the first and only book to thematically explore the totality of the artist's oeuvre, reading it against the backdrop of 1990s artistic production and arguing for its cultural, social, and political relevancy, then and now.
