Fauna
Autor Jacqueline Bishopen Limba Engleză Paperback – 31 mar 2006
A satisfying and original work, this collection of poems offers moving personal insights as it reconstructs a Jamaican childhood from memory. Using striking metaphors from the fauna and flora of Jamaica as well as images of painting as overarching devices, this volume explores the dichotomies of plenitude and emptiness, presence and absence, and the nourishment and poison. Writing from New York, the poet never allows her longing for return to become sentimental and instead writes meticulously to reveal a remade world.
