Celebrated by almost 2 billion Muslims around the world, Ramadan is a month filled with prayer, fasting, and charity. As many Muslims withdraw from the worldly affairs into Ramadan's spiritual retreat, they break bread together with family and neighbors after a daylong fast from dawn to sunset. It is a time devoted to overcoming our weaknesses and discovering our inner potentials. Fasting is an ancient form of worship practiced in many faith traditions. Thus, in diverse societies, Muslims are joined by friends and colleagues from other traditions during Ramadan to reinforce community spirit and honor this practice with feelings of gratitude.
"Fast-Pray-Share: Ramadan Reflections" aims to contribute to the rejuvenating spirit of this holy month. The booklet is meant to be used as a resource on the spirit of Ramadan especially in fast breaking events and to be shared with participants from different faith groups.
