Recenzii
In this bold and timely book, Dr. Daniel Jones explores the psychology of love at its most intense and impulsive. With a rare blend of scientific rigor and narrative wit, he introduces the concept of 'emophilia' as a powerful but underappreciated force shaping our relationships and our risks. This is not just a book about romance; it's a roadmap for understanding emotional impulsivity, vulnerability, and resilience in the age of dating apps, heartbreak, and high-speed intimacy. Falling Fast will resonate with anyone who has ever loved too quickly, lost too suddenly, or longed to make sense of it all.
For some, love is a slow burn. For others, it's a five-alarm fire. Jones unpacks the science of emophilia with wit, warmth, and academic rigor. A must-read for anyone curious about the thrills and pitfalls of falling fast.
Before picking up this book, I have to admit I wasn't very familiar with the idea of emophilia. But Daniel Jones makes a persuasive and engaging case for why it matters. He explains the concept in a way that is both clear and thought-provoking, showing how it can shed light on patterns in relationships that many readers will recognize. This book not only introduces readers to an overlooked idea but also raises awareness of why it deserves a place in the conversation about love and connection.
This fascinating book offers a new perspective on the complexities of romantic love. Based on the author's creative and extensive psychological research and his engaging personal examples and insights, the book offers readers new ways of looking at and understanding their experiences in love relationships.
Blending personal stories and social science research, Dr. Jones has written a compelling book about emophilia. He carefully defines the concept and the associations of emophilia with other psychological constructs and relationship outcomes. Jones showcases the challenges experienced by and offers hope for individuals navigating emophilia.
Have you ever developed an intense crush for someone you just met and immediately started fantasizing about what your future with this person may look like? Has this happened repeatedly in your life? Did your crushes often involve attractive, smart, and charismatic narcissists who later turned out to be toxic for you? If you check all these boxes, Falling Fast is a ground-breaking and eye-opening book about you and other people like you. Dan Jones explains the science behind emophilia with brilliant new ideas, compelling facts, and an engaging writing style. Emophilia is a double-edged sword: the eagerness to find and fall in love with the person of your dreams may be the quickest pathway to marital bliss or it may turn this pathway into a minefield in which your missteps will trigger repeated explosions.
