Faggots
Autor Larry Krameren Limba Engleză Paperback
There are 2,556,596 faggots in the New York City area. One of them is Fred Lemish. At thirty-nine, Fred has built his body into a state of being in Great Shape. In doing so, he’s finally ready to meet Mr. Right—and he’s determined to do just that in the remaining four days before he reaches the watershed age of forty.
Faggots tells the story of these four days. From the Everhard Baths to the Pines of Fire Island, to that place of myth and legend, The Meat Rack, Fred seeks to live life to the fullest and find that connection he’s been desperately missing. But as he delves deeper into the bars, baths, and discos of New York, he soon realizes he may be looking for his dream lover in all the wrong places.
One of the all-time bestselling gay novels, Faggots is a “vicious Swiftian satire” (New York Magazine) of gay culture and life in 1970s New York. Outrageous, compassionate, and prescient, it remains peerless—at once a graphically sexual caricature of gay life and a touching love story of one man’s frantic search for permanence, commitment, and love.
“There are few books in modern gay fiction, or in modern fiction for that matter, that must be read. Faggots is certainly one of them.”—Tony Kushner
