Fade in Two

In attempt to appreciate life beyond his privileged existence, Californian scriptwriter John Williamson volunteers for a humanitarian organization in Africa. Soon he finds himself in exotic Tunisia where destitution, inquisitive locals, and a charming English coworker renew his senses. This new life gives the American a fresh appreciation for all that is valuable including his beautiful colleague, Sarah Langdonshire, who has made known her forbidden relationship with a local manager. Later, a mountain retreat presents John and Sarah with a contemporary eden just as a new disease begins to threaten their village and perhaps their own existence.

Only the arrival of a young physician from Italy provides hope that not all will wither in their Tunisian community. Paola has come to lend her expertise to a dilapidated infirmary that's beset with patients harboring the mysterious malady. Nevertheless, John's relentless self-doubt tests Paola's noble strength and forces the young doctor to confront her allegiance to her Hippocratic Oath.
