At the dawn of the Victorian age in England a young girl faces the loss of those dear to her and must learn to trust in others and herself. She is befriended by Princess Victoria, who is her same age. With access to the Royal Court, her future is all but assured. She ultimately makes a choice that will alter every aspect of life. Though she must turn her 'face to the wind', she is true to her choice.
