A snail embarks on a journey through nature, and along the way he makes new friends. Travel with a snail as they begin a journey through nature making new friends and see new things along the way. The snail shows courage, tenderness, hope, vulnerability, and growth as he travels across the pages. Some keywords are nature, exploration, friendship, and sightseeing. Parents and teachers alike will appreciate the glossary in the back and the pages of "Things to Do" outdoors to connect with nature. This is book one in a series called Explore Nature. Rodriguez not only provides a list of things to do, including visiting a park, going on a nature scavenger hunt, creating a birdfeeder, and helping the environment by recycling and composting, but she also provides links to sites that provide details for each suggestion. Younger children will love the vivid imagery, and older children will enjoy the story of a snail on a journey.
