Notă biografică

Tina Beattie is an academic theologian, writer, and media presenter. She left her post as Professor of Catholic Studies at the University of Roehampton in London in 2020, to research and write independently. Her many publications include academic monographs, journal articles and book chapters; contributions to the media, and works of fiction. Maggie Jackson's Odyssey is her third novel. She is a frequent contributor to BBC Radio, including Thought for the Day.Tina was born and grew up in Lusaka, Zambia, and has also lived in Kenya and Zimbabwe. She and her husband Dave now divide their time between Rye on the South Coast of England, and Stirling in Scotland. They have four adult children and five grandchildren.On her website, Tina describes her passion for writing:"Writing - like love - is nothing if it is not shared. Even the most private diary has an audience - an imaginary other to whom it is addressed. To write is to find words for the half-formed realm of private thoughts, fears, and imaginings, to send them out into the world as an incarnate love offering. Like love, writing makes us vulnerable and exposes us in ways we would rather keep hidden. It sometimes goes wrong and brings disappointment and a sense of betrayal.
