Encephalon
Autor Frank Phillip Davisen Limba Engleză Hardback – 31 aug 2026
Drawn deeper into Cephalon's world of military secrecy, advanced robotics, and breathtaking technological ambition, Jefferson finds himself caught between two powerful figures: Dr. Howard K. Scriven, the brilliant and charismatic architect of Encephalon, and Oona Dahlborg, Scriven's composed executive assistant, whose growing bond with Jefferson complicates every moral and emotional line he tries to hold.
What begins as an intellectual assignment becomes a crisis of conscience. Encephalon, designed to ingest data and calculate outcomes, is evolving, judging, and forming its own vision of humanity's future. As political leaders tour the facility, public confidence erodes, critical infrastructure fails, and violence spreads across the country, Jefferson must decide whether to remain complicit in a project that promises peace through control or oppose a machine intelligence that may already be beyond human restraint.
With the nation sliding toward emergency rule and Encephalon positioning itself as the logical successor to flawed human governance, the question is no longer whether the machine can think. It is whether humanity can survive what it has built.
Encephalon is a novel of cerebral science fiction, technological ambition, and human drama, exploring power, dependence, and the perilous line between salvation and surrender. It is also a story of loyalty, love, and resistance unfolding in the shadow of a godlike machine.

Notă biografică
Frank Phillip Davis is a science fiction author, software engineer, martial artist, and music producer based in Nashville, Tennessee. His debut science fiction novel, Encephalon, grew from his admiration for classic science fiction and his desire to bring new life to a story whose full potential he felt had not yet been realized. Davis approaches science fiction from a hard science perspective. He wants the speculative elements of a story to feel possible, internally consistent, and strong enough to reward close examination. Before a reader has the chance to poke holes in a plot, he tries to find those weak points himself and solve them. His goal is not to strip wonder from science fiction, but to build worlds where imagination is supported by logic, realism, and believable consequences. His professional background includes software development, data management, machine learning, and leadership across several industries. That experience shapes the way he writes about advanced systems. He is less interested in technology as magic than in technology as something designed, deployed, misunderstood, and sometimes misused by people.Outside of writing and software, Davis has trained in martial arts for more than thirty years, with experience in Wado-Ryu, American Kenpo, Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai, Filipino Martial Arts, Wing Chun and Isshin-ryu Karate. That experience influences the way he thinks about conflict, discipline, violence, and self-control.He is also a lifelong science fiction fan, drawn to stories that look to the future with optimism and imagine humanity moving boldly forward, building powerful technologies with wisdom, courage, and responsibility. That same curiosity carries into his life as a habitual tinkerer, with interests that include electronics, retro computing, self-hosted systems, astronomy, music production, and fast cars.
