Two races stand opposed to each other: the fey, who came over from a different world, and the Elements, who came into being with the world. A high crime has been committed, and it must be made right or else the whole fey race will be destroyed. Queen Banria looks for help and find a convenient group of adventurers practically sleeping on her doorstep. Bard and his friends agree to help, and not just because she's taken Claudio hostage. The mystery will take them back and forth across the bleak, winter landscape in the high mountains of Sighla as they strive first to save the fey. And then the land itself. And then an innocent king.
