Over recent years, evidence from educational research has become increasingly popular as a source for thinking about, and developing, practice. However, as an interdisciplinary field, education lies at the crossroads of a number of different approaches to understanding and investigating educational issues which makes the navigation of educational research a complex task. Educational Research has been written to act as a simple introduction to some of the main research approaches in education. It considers some of the core issues and approaches relevant to research methods to help those who have little background in research to begin to understand some of the research literature and carry out research projects to inform their own practice.
