Jack Courtly, the ruler of Courtly City, takes a family holiday on the corporate Courtly train. He indulges his wife, Queenie, and his adolescent youngster, Ace, who has become somewhat addicted to digital entertainments. This will be a time for Jack to bond with his family, until their journey is abruptly interrupted by the AnCors.
These Anti-Corporatists are a group with origins in protesting the power grabs corporate families secured during a time of political and financial unrest in the country. This resulted in the development of many competing corporate kingdoms.
Because of their vicious history of violence, the AnCors have since been denied the rights of other Courtly citizens and have evolved into a ruthless tribe for hire.
