This book reviews the current literature relevant to college students and e-cigarette use, with emphasis on the perceived risks and benefits of use, and discusses how this information may be applied to future interventions in this population. E-cigarettes are battery-operated devices, vape pens, e-hookah, e-cigars, e-pipes, or other electronic nicotine delivery systems. They are designed to heat a liquid solution that emulates smoking using a smoke-free technique. Ongoing studies of nicotine salts and by-products such as N-nitrosonornicotine and nicotyrine and their physiological effects are also reviewed.
