E-Bollywood: Popular Hindi Cinema in the Age of New Media: Routledge Advances in Film Studies

Autor Rajinder Dudrah
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 3 mar 2027
E-Bollywood offers a groundbreaking framework for understanding Hindi popular cinema through its expanded media ecology, encompassing films, stars, streaming platforms, social media, memes, AI content, and audience engagement in the digital age.

This book equips readers with the innovative 'E-Bollywood' methodological framework to analyse the dynamic relationships between Bollywood texts, industries, technologies, and users. Through interdisciplinary case studies – including the stardom of major Bollywood icons, Amitabh Bachchan's online presence, the Koffee with Karan chat show, BBC Asian Network radio, and Bollywood on YouTube – readers gain practical tools for examining how cinema operates within contemporary media assemblages beyond traditional film analysis.

Designed for scholars, teachers, and students in film studies, media studies, cultural studies, and South Asian studies, this book offers an accessible yet rigorous approach to Bollywood's digital transformation, global cinema and transnational media cultures.
