Divorcing Amy, is about a man's perspective of a divorce. It tells his side of the story about his 12-year separation and final divorce process. It describes the mental abuse he and his children endured by his partner. Sobry learned to think outside of the so-called gender box with this book. Abuse is abuse-both men and women suffer from it and commit it. Writing this book showed her she could be compassionate towards the male and female gender. Although Sobry has continually been challenged by women who commit abuse, she has found a place where she can accept her challenges and them. Perhaps she's developed an expertise in dealing with abusive women.
