This book tells the story of my cochlear implant operation - the before (my thoughts as the operation date drew closer), the middle (the operation and recovery) and the after (waiting for the big switch on). Writing things down was an important process for me - but I also came to hope that my story would be useful to someone else in the future; after all there is little literature available for young adults who become deafened.
