20 November, 2040. International Children's Day. Three months ago the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) launched a letter writing competition to promote its campaign for global literacy. Under this program children from all over the world were encouraged to write letters to the United Nations, describing their dreams, problems and expectations. Over 80,000 letters were received and dispatched to a diverse judging panel. Judges soon discovered that many of these letters were not mere views or experiences, but revelations of life's prevalent issues, penned by anxious children in their quest to get answers from the World Government. Following a rigorous selection process, 11 exceptional letters were presented to the UN General Assembly. The collection was titled Dear United Nations.
