Slow down and spend time in an ancient forest or stop overnight at a local spa in the Cotswolds. For food and drink lovers, there are excursions to some of the UK's oldest pubs, visits to wineries where sparkling wine regularly outstrips Champagne for the best drop, and trips to the beach to sample some of the nation's finest seafood. With maps, beautiful photography, and all the tips and tricks you need to make the most of your time in the UK, DayTripper: London will get you out of the city to experience the hidden gems that aren't featured in tourist brochures.

Notă biografică

Lucy Dodsworth is a writer, photographer, and creator of the popular travel blog, On The Luce. Lucy grew up in the beautiful Wye Valley in the UK, and after 10 years working in publishing in London she gave up the day job and moved to Cheltenham to go freelance and develop a more flexible lifestyle and indulge her love for travel - with a focus on trying to do so sustainably. Lucy fell in love with travel when she headed to New York aged 18. Stepping into this new country, new city and new world blew her away, and she's been exploring the world via train ever since. In her 20s she spent 16 months exploring Asia and Australia, in her 30s she was visiting a new country practically every month, and now, in her 40s, Lucy combines trips around Europe and beyond with local travels and life at home with friends, family and cats. Lucy is a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers, has an MSc Tourism, Heritage and Sustainability from the University of Glasgow, and has written the guidebook Auld and New in Edinburgh for Hardie Grant Publishing and co-authored another book for Lonely Planet.
