The discussions, which took place during the first run of His Dark Materials at the National Theatre, are lively and entertaining debates about some of the themes and issues in the trilogy. They also throw light on the various aspects of adaptation and staging, the decisions made and the reasons why, that brought Philip Pullman's hugely successful epic to the Olivier stage.
