Dark Liquid Skies

Autor S V Bekvalac
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 25 mai 2027
What if you woke up with no memory, wearing the face of a dead man?
Pseudomorph washes ashore in Bek-by-Soup with no idea who he is or how he got there. Everyone seems to recognise him as Kylo Krink, a detective who died months ago, but Pseudomorph has no memory of Krink's life, or of the man he might once have been.
Bek-by-Soup isn't exactly the easiest place to find answers. Temporal storms sweep through the city, the past has a habit of bleeding into the present, and somewhere among its crooked cops, criminal underworld and stranger inhabitants lies the truth about Krink's death.
As Pseudomorph follows the traces left behind by his former self, he finds himself caught in a mystery where memory can't be trusted, identity is anything but fixed and discovering the truth may be considerably more dangerous than remaining in the dark.
Darkly funny, wildly imaginative and steeped in hard-boiled noir, Dark Liquid Skies is a brilliantly original science-fiction mystery about memory, identity and the possibility of becoming someone new.

Notă biografică

S.V. Bekvalac was born in Croatia in 1987, in what was then Yugoslavia, and grew up in London. She studied German and Russian at Oxford and filmmaking in Prague before pursuing academic research into cities and film. After beginning with screenplays and short stories, she found herself writing increasingly long fiction about cities instead. She has lived across Europe and now lives in London, or in one of her own imaginary cities.
