Mordecai Palms has a very normal life. A normal family, a normal school. He has a semi-normal best friend. But that's exactly the problem. Normal has become boring. Mordecai decides to set out on a journey to escape normal. After meeting Petulia Finke, he discovers that there's so much more to life than normal. But as their journey goes on, Mordecai finds that an ancient curse isn't all just superstition. Mordecai struggles with the realization that everything that he knows of Petulia and her entire universe could be a lie.
