Englishman and orchid expert Frederick William Burbidge (1847-1905) traveled around the world collecting specimens of the beautiful and exotic orchid. He worked for Victorian orchid distributor James Veitch and Sons and was named Curator of the Trinity College Botanic Gardens at Dublin, Ireland in 1879.
