Today, its small communities are held together by modern technology, but there was a time when the seperation made it difficult to maintain the kind of close communication necessary for the building of a nation. It was the Community Announcements, a kind of radio bulletin board timed to coincide with morning and evening meals, that kept Bahamians on the path to nationhood.
