Autor Dylan Morrison
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 6 oct 2026
Kit Forrest is officially the saddest man in Cedar Falls. A year after his boyfriend turned down his proposal and left town, Kit's beloved bookstore is falling down around him. The old brick firehouse has overstuffed shelves, a resident orange cat with an attitude problem... and repairs Kit can't begin to afford.
Sage Ballard is a hometown boy who got famous, then became a tabloid disaster, and now urgently needs a nice, ordinary boyfriend to convince one very rich investor he's a changed man. Three months of fake dating, and Sawyer's Books will get the cash injection it needs to survive. And it's not like he has to actually be nice to the guy, right?
Kit thinks Sage is a rude, sunglasses-indoors diva. Sage thinks Kit is an earnest nerd who talks too much. But then something shifts. Sage starts turning up at the bookstore for no particular reason. Kit starts saving him the good armchair. And the cat--who bites everyone--won't leave Sage alone.
By the time the first snow falls, pretending has begun to feel a bit too real. Which would be wonderful, if the whole thing weren't built on lies. You know what they say about small towns and secrets...
Perfect for fans of KJ Charles, Alexis Hall and Zarah Detand, you can expect:
- Fake dating
- Celebrity x ordinary guy
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Small-town romance
- Forced proximity / only one bed
- Cozy bookstore setting
- Slow burn romance
- Autumn vibes

Notă biografică

**Dylan Morrison** has known he wanted to be a writer since roughly age five. However, Dylan Morrison is also the sort of person who, when falling from the top of a very tall tree, has the marked tendency to hit every branch on the way down. As a result, he attempted to find fulfillment and stability by trying an assortment of other professions on for size, each with varying degrees of success. After determining that he was, in his heart of hearts, neither a project manager nor a recruiter nor an administrative assistant nor a customer service professional nor a social media manager nor at all interested in answering phones for a 24-hour plumber, Dylan was forced to reconsider the possibility that he might, in fact, be a writer. Luckily for Dylan, the condition of being a writer is as incurable as it is permanent, so he did get in some practice during his time exploring other career paths. His fanfiction, which he's been posting online for nearly two decades, has been translated into more than fifteen languages and read by millions across the globe. A queer trans man himself, Dylan has a particular passion for telling stories about complex, layered queer characters, and for depicting those characters finding joy, self-acceptance, and love. Dylan is based in Cleveland, Ohio, where he shares a home with his spouse Rowan, too many books for any two people to read in a lifetime, and a frankly excessive amount of jam. If you are looking for him, your best bet is to check the kitchen, where he is highly likely to be making a sandwich.
