A heartbroken young woman abandons her family after a tragic accident. She does a disappearing act in circumstances in which she is presumed dead and flies off to a distant land in search of herself. There, the Universe "speaks" to her through a host of new experiences and encounters and helps her to break away from the mental suffering experienced through an early, almost loveless marriage and the drudgery of domestic life. She finds her "soul mate" in the process but when finally she becomes strong enough to face her demons in her home country, her new understanding of the Universe and its forces is put to the test when she discovers another tragedy awaiting her.
