Coffee, Conversations, and Confidence

I've spent much of my life wanting to help others and thought for many years I wanted to be a therapist. When I was younger the one thing that stopped me was wondering if I could hold someone else's stories and their pain. I didn't feel I could because my own pain was too great. After years of working with my therapist and healing, I was able to enter into the mental health field as a peer support specialist. I had finally healed from my own pain. Those lived experiences gave me the deep understanding that I could never take anyone else's pain away, nor could I fix it. What I could do and where the power lies, is that I know how to be with people in their pain. I know how to hold that space, listen with empathy, validate their experience and give them that safe space to be exactly who they are. I am currently in the process of cultivating my own coaching business to assist others with self-awareness and growth. Giving people the ability to feel safe and heal.
