Notă biografică
Edgar R. Lemon is a Soil scientist formerly with the USDA Agricultural Research Service. He was professor of agronomy at Cornell, an exchange scientist to the USSR, a Guggenheim and Fulbright Fellow to Australia, a DSIR Fellow to New Zealand, and was chairman of the IBP Subcommittee on Photosynthesis and Production Processes. His interests are crop micrometeorology, carbon dioxide exchange in Plant com[1]munities, and the physical environment of plants.
Descriere
This book presents information on the direct effects of increased atmospheric CO2 on plants. The authors consider what we already know about plant responses to various CO2 concentrations, then project what may happen at ambient levels up to 600 ppm. Formulating questions that must be answered if we are to quantify plant responses under changing conditions, they consider possible positive and negative effects of the steady increase of one of life's basic components.
