Born on Christmas Day, 1971, 12 years before the outbreak of the Second Civil War in Sudan, Antoni Bazia grew up in relative affluence and physical security because his Daddy, Henry Bazia, was not only chief of the Lou tribe, but also an important official of the Arabic government in Khartoum. Although he was a Christian and often promoted the causes of the African peoples who dominated the south of Sudan, Henry Bazia was respected and valued by the Islamic leadership, and his children grew up under his umbrella. Antoni, or Toni, as his family called him, never had to flee for his life, see his family massacred, or his home burned to the ground as didThe Lost Boys whom he would later support and advise in the U.S.A., Canada, and the U.K. His childhood had different challenges, character-building exercises which would give him strength and clarify a personal philosophy which can be followed by any child who wants a life of purpose and deep spiritual rewards.
