Champions for Change
Autor Heather Camlot Ilustrat de Kelly Wanen Limba Engleză Hardback – 18 mai 2027 – vârsta până la 12 ani
Throughout history, athletes have had to jump over high hurdles for equal opportunities to play and compete. They still do. And even though sports are a mirror of a time period's prejudices, stereotypes and fears, they also help raise global awareness of those inequalities.
From the early Olympic Games that were used to bring peace between warring nations to athletes kneeling during their national anthem in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, sports have been a powerful tool for bringing people together and igniting social change. In Champions for Change, explore the history of sport activism and meet inspiring athletes from around the world who have challenged discrimination, pushed for equality and made a difference.
Champions for Change is part of the middle-grade Orca Timeline series that explores how big ideas have shaped humanity.
