"I thought I knew my Lord and God;
but darkness fi lled my mind.
I thought I knew my Saviour s word;
most all I knew was lies.
Fear-ignorance-bondage and control,
was mostly all my mind did know.
One day my life began to change,
My Lord and God did rearrange.
Th e chains did break and I was free,
my Lord and God He spoke to me.
my soul was starved and very dry;
His presence was for what it cried.
I love to praise His Holy Name;
God s love has been my glorious gain.
When there are people who lead us astray;
we have to learn to forgive them and pray.
Th at their souls I will forgive;
and Gods love in them shall live. Amen."
