Designed in 1858 by Frederick Law Olmstead, Central Park is the verdant heart and soul of New York City. Through it covers a mere 840 acres, the park is a haven in the midst of a bustling city that encompasses wooded glades, serene meadows, ponds, paths, plazas and forests.
