The Central Line Series documents and celebrates a selection of artworks commissioned and presented at a range of sites along the Central Line of the London Underground, intended to enhance the experience of traveling on the Tube.

Projects include: Michael Landy, Acts of Kindness, 2011 and the collaborative work A Lock is a Gate, 2011, from Ruth Ewan, composer Kerry Andrew and poet Evlynn Sharp in conjunction with the Laburnum Boat Club, amongst many others.

Notă biografică

Charlotte Bonham-Carter is currently Curator of Art on the Underground, the contemporary art program that enriches the Tube environment. Charlotte has previously occupied a number of roles within the art world. She has worked as an Assistant Curator in the Collections department of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, was an Assistant Curator at Barbican Art Gallery and was Curator of Visual Arts at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London. Charlotte is the co-author of The Contemporary Art Book (Goodman, 2011) and is a regular contributor to Flash Art, Art in America and Saatchi On-line and has written for numerous other publications, including Time Out, Art Press and Circa.

Louise Coysh is currently Curator for Art on the Underground and curates projects that maximize the potential for collaborations between artists, London Underground staff and communities reflecting the diversity of the City. Louise has over ten years experience working within the visual arts sector. She was Project Organizer at the Serpentine Gallery, was Magazine Coordinator for AN Magazine and was a member of the Visual Arts North East (VANE) steering committee.

Tamsin Dillon is Head of Art on the Underground. Tamsin has developed her curatorial and management practice over some 15 years, and has previously worked with and for many other organizations including Chisenhale Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery, London, Capp Street Project, San Francisco. She is a member of the London Regional Arts Council, the Fourth Plinth Commissioning Group, and is on the Board of Trustees for Turner Contemporary in Margate.

Snejana Krasteva is Curator for Art on the Underground. Prior to joining Art on the Underground, Snejana has worked as co-Director of the Made in Goldsmiths Gallery, London; Assistant Curator at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing and Gallery Manager at Beijing Tokyo Art Projects, Beijing. Snejana has edited a number of artists' catalogues and is a regular contributor to Pipeline Magazine, HK.
