Notă biografică
Nellie Campobello (1900-1986) was a Mexican writer, ballet dancer, and choreographer. Known as the Centaur of the North (La Centaura del Norte), she is widely considered to be the only female author to have chronicled the Mexican Revolution. Campobello wrote poems, novels, and nonfiction works on the life of Pancho Villa and indigenous dance in Mexico; some of her poems were translated by Langston Hughes. Along with Martín Luis Guzmán, she founded the Mexico City Ballet, and was the director of Mexico's National School of Dance.
