This anthology includes 151 classic writings about the death penalty, covering a span of almost 4,000 years. The entries were selected to illustrate the diversity of thought about capital punishment, to provide a resource for tracing its intellectual history, and to provide surprisingly fresh ideas that can inform our contemporary conversations.
