Thor Hanson is a conservation biologist, Guggenheim fellow, Switzer environmental fellow, and the winner of many honors for his writing, including the John Burroughs Medal, the AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize, and three Pacific Northwest Book Awards. The author of five books, Hanson lives with his wife and son on an island in Washington State.
