Burns's Letters

Autor J. Logie Robertson
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 31 mai 2006
Robert Burns (1759-96), known familiarly as Rabbie Burns, was a Scottish poet and lyricist, widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and celebrated worldwide. He is considered a pioneer of the Romantic movement and has had a strong influence on Scottish literature. As well as his original compositions, Burns also collected folk songs from across Scotland, often revising or adapting them. Among his best known works are Auld Lang Syne, often sung at Hogmanay (the last day of the year), A Red, Red Rose, A Man's a Man for a' That, and Tam O'Shanter. This collection of Burns's letters was selected and arranged by James Logie Robertson who also wrote the introduction. Robertson (1846-1922) was a literary scholar, editor, author and poet who also wrote under the pen name Hugh Haliburton. His poems, published regularly in The Scotsman, were affectionately known as The Hughies.
