"Buckled in the Denver Basin" is a tongue-in-cheek mystery designed to deliver one very important fact. The Denver Basin aquifers, used by numerous municipalities in Colorado, are indeed non-renewable water supplies. For years, I tried to get that message across through speeches and newspaper articles. Unfortunately, the fact is still largely ignored. So I turned to fiction, inventing the town of Breeze, Colorado. Follow the exploits of Aggie Boyle as she discovers a dead body lying next to the town's water tank. Palms get greased, water reports vanish, and fleeing government officials seek refuge in the Cayman Islands.
